The Reguliersgracht is one of the most beautiful canals in Amsterdam and is known as the “Canal of Seven Bridges” thanks to its famous viewpoint overlooking seven of the city’s iconic bridges in a row. The canal is named after the Reguliers Monastery (an Augustinian order) that once operated in the area.
The canal connects two of the main canals - the Herengracht and the Lijnbaansgracht, and is located between the Keizersgracht and the Prinsengracht, forming an integral part of the 17th-century canal belt. Most canal cruises in Amsterdam pass through the Reguliersgracht, and it is considered one of the most romantic canals in the city.
