What is The Amsterdam Light Festival Walking Route?

Answer: Although you can create your own route to enjoy the light artworks of the Amsterdam Light Festival, the festival presents an official and recommended route, which is the ultimate way to experience all the installations.

The route is about 6.5 km long and runs along Amsterdam’s main canals. To view and use the route, the festival offers a paid route map that costs about €8 per person. Guided by GPS, it will take you to all the light artworks in an organized order and provide plenty of additional information.

Note: To purchase the route, you need to download the official festival app (available for Apple devices here and for Android devices here). Downloading the app is free and it contains extra information about the festival, but if you want to use the route map, you will need to purchase it through the app for €8.
